“For who is the greater, one who reclines at table or one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines at table? But I am among you as the one who serves.”

Having had two of his three children attend the school, he still has a keen interest in helping to ensure the best for its children, especially as many of them join St Peter’s after being nurtured at Humpty’s in their early years.
Norman joined the governing body fourteen years ago when approached by an existing governor who was looking to add diverse experience to the governing team. Having worked for forty years in industry he felt certain his experience could benefit St Peter’s School and its pupils.
Norman holds a Masters Degree in manufacturing systems and many years’ experience as a project and manufacturing manager across a wide range of industries, overseeing many projects which were supported with EU funds.
Angela Grandfield MBE
Angela is a semi-retired teacher of 40 years’ experience. She retired in 2009 from her post of Assistant Headteacher at a large secondary school in Walsall and was re-employed by the school as their Health and Safety Manager. This required Angela to re-train in this field, which she did through the Lean Academy (part of Wolverhampton University) obtaining a level 4 qualification.
Angela started her teaching career as a physical education teacher, becoming head of department and also taking on pastoral duties as a head of year. She then became Key Stage 4 Co-ordinator, moving eventually into the post as Assistant Headteacher (Pastoral Manager) for the whole school. She became a member of the Senior Leadership Team in 1979 and remained so until her retirement. Angela is also a Yoxall Parish Councillor
Angela was both honoured and delighted to have been awarded an MBE, in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List, in 2010 for ‘Services to Education in Walsall’.
Jackie has worked at St Peter’s since 1999 and gained an Honours Degree in Educational Studies in 2006. Jackie has a passion for phonics and reading, saying “I believe reading is fundamental to enable children to access the whole curriculum.”
Jackie has lived in Yoxall for 22 years and her three children all attended the school.
In 2020, Jackie gained the qualification of Higher Level Teaching Assistant.

Mark is in his eighth year as a senior leader across two different schools (secondary). He has widespread experience, including developing teaching and learning, pupil wellbeing (being a former Designated Safeguarding Lead), statutory frameworks and personnel management. He is SENCO at his current school.
Mark says “My daughter has thoroughly enjoyed her time at Yoxall St Peters thus far. This has been due to the hard work of the staff and the caring, welcoming ethos they have established. I believe that this would be an opportunity to repay the school by giving of my time and experience.”
“Furthermore, as a small village school, Yoxall St Peters is dependent to a large extent on the support of volunteers and the community of which it is a part. I believe it is incumbent on parents to support the school according to their capacity and ability.”
Paul is a director at JCB with extensive experience in finance, marketing, health and safety and developing new talent. Paul says “Inspired learning and personal development is the keystone to a bright future. Yoxall St Peter’s School plays a huge role in our community, I would like to play my role in supporting Yoxall St Peter’s.”
